95 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Soft, decadent and approachable, this Cabernet Sau- vignon is blended with a little Malbec. It offers flavors of blackberry jam, black currant, dark chocolate and cedar that continue on the long, spicy finish. This is lovely to drink now and over the next five years. —S.H.

92 Points - Purely Domestic Wine Report
Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley, 14.8% alcohol, $80. 333 cs. 95CS|05MB
A nose of stone fruits and mint, concentrated and fairly complex. The palate is rich and robust with dense texture appearing in the mid-palate. Black fruits abound with herbs and lavender adding some nice undertones. It is a very approachable wine that should make lots of friends. Drink 2011 – 2020. - DW

The fruit is sourced from a site that straddles Atlas Peak, but the vineyard is not ex- clusively located there, which is why this wine is labeled with the broad Napa Valley appellation. This 100% Syrah is extraordinarily rich, and it floods the mouth with flavors of blackberries and black currants, plus hints of crisp bacon and black pepper. Dry and tannic, it shows elegance and balance, and it will develop over the next six years. —S.H.

- Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine
This is not a big, highly ripened, full-throttle Chardonnay that leaps from the glass but rather a tighter, somewhat reticent one that only slowly reveals itself. It is firm and substantial with fine acid balance, and it shows a subtle, sneaky sort of richness that becomes evident only with patience. It smacks of green apples and white peaches as well as a faint stony note and a deft bit of lightly laid-on oak, and its careful structure makes us believers in its future.
