A nose of stone fruits and mint, concentrated and fairly complex. The palate is rich and robust with dense texture appearing in the mid-palate. Richness rather than restraint is the message of this mouthfilling wine, yet deep fruit and real varietal complexity keeps it on very solid Syrah footing. It is never compromised by ripeness, and its ample tannins are buffered by plenty of extract, and it has the structured sturdiness of one that is guaranteed to develop quite well. It will not begin to show all that it has for at least another three or four years, and full maturity may not be reached until it has spent another decade in bottle.
