Soft, decadent and approachable, this Cabernet Sau- vignon is blended with a little Malbec. It offers flavors of blackberry jam, black currant, dark chocolate and cedar that continue on the long, spicy finish. This is lovely to drink now and over the next five years. —S.H.

Packs in lots of rich, dense, layered flavors, built around dried currant, graphite, mineral, cedar and tobacco. Full-bodied, with the plum and berry flavors offering a pleasant touch of midpalate sweetness. Drink now through 2022. 30 bottles made. —J.L.

The fruit is sourced from a site that straddles Atlas Peak, but the vineyard is not ex- clusively located there, which is why this wine is labeled with the broad Napa Valley appellation. This 100% Syrah is extraordinarily rich, and it floods the mouth with flavors of blackberries and black currants, plus hints of crisp bacon and black pepper. Dry and tannic, it shows elegance and balance, and it will develop over the next six years. —S.H.
The Patland Estate Toro Grande features tobacco from five different countries. It is an elegant, medium strength/body cigar that smokes creamy (thanks to the Peruvian tobacco), smooth and balanced throughout. It has a mouthful of taste with notes of toast, dark cocoa, with dark chocolate in the second half of the cigar. You will also experience subtle but interesting notes of spice, black pepper. The double ligero leaf used in the filler is a rare find, but it’s a leaf that compliments and accentuates all the other tobaccos, bringing out rich flavor.
