In 2022, we sourced Syrah from vineyards across Napa Valley to stay true to the style we’ve honed over the years—even through the challenges of a heat wave. Our Stagecoach Vineyard fruit absorbed much of that heat, and while it developed beautiful violet tones and lifted aromatics, we anticipated it might drift away from the savory, spicy character Syrah is known for. To bring balance, we sought out cooler-climate sites, securing fruit from Hyde Vineyards in Carneros and Viking Vineyards in Coombsville. Both regions enjoy slower, more even ripening, which layers freshness and structure into the wine.
The result is a Syrah that captures the best of both worlds—ripe aromatics lifted by cool-climate elegance. Take a bottle home this season and experience the balance for yourself.
