2017 "Lilla in Fiore" Rosé

After a long wait, the Patland 2017 Rosé is finally in bottle! Just as in years past, this wine sports a more saturated orange-red hue. On the nose, there is enough yellow plum and peach skin to make you think of sangria, and enough orange peel to make you crave an Old Fashioned! Of course, all the classic strawberry, maraschino cherry and vanilla flavors we’ve come to expect in Patland Rosé are present, but this wine has a new characteristic about it. Perhaps as a result of the added Tempranillo in this vintage, the wine has a savory quality. There is a brininess to it that begs for fresh seafood and shellfish. You’ll even find subtle notes of white pepper and green olive. The wine has a long and creamy finish of vanilla and orange zest.
