2016 Zinfandel

At first, the Zinfandel takes back seat to the Petite Syrah with which it was co-fermented. Black licorice, black cherry, blackberry liqueur and plum skin aromas swirl atop the glass. They’re further intensified by cardamom and black pepper spice. On the palate, the Zinfandel shines through with bright, red fruit! Tart cranberry, sour cherries, strawberry jam and a slight balsamic character flood your palate. The tannins, while rough in texture, are overshadowed by a bright acidity that keeps this wine dancing for a long and persistent finish. Ultimately, a refreshing, fun and complex take on Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.
