Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Boasting a good deal of layered richness from the very first sniff and a gutsy, far-reaching wine whose considerable heft comes without brutish toughness, Patland's 2019 Proprietary Red Wine marries loads of ripe, well-extracted, dark berry and cassis fruit with a generous dollop of sweet oak, a bit of briary spice and notes of loamy soil as well as touches of roasted meats in a decidedly complex mix. It is so expressive as to be inviting now, but it is fit with ample tannins and structured to age for five to ten years, and patience promises to make for an even better wine yet. - Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine
